18 oz. Mug with Thumb Rest

Hover Over for Zoom View.  Here is the second of the two mugs I have called "Prairie Fire Pottery at its best."  This is why.  Colors like this can only be acheived by handcrafting each glaze individually, firing in a natural gas kiln to 2400°, then maintaining a delicate and elusive reduction atmosphere.  This is no easy task.  But done well, it produces a keepsake.  This 18 ounce mug is wheel-thrown in stoneware clay.  On the handle is a thumb rest and below that a do-dad for your little finger.  Both will give you a nice grip and better balance. On the bottom is Tama's inscribed signature and 30th Anniversary date (1995-2025).  Like everything at Prairie Fire Pottery it is handmade, lead-free, microwavable, and food and dishwasher-safe.  This comes with my very highest recommendation.
